Зин про Магазин [Zine pro Magazin]
I was born and raised in Russia. And these days it hurts me to watch my country fall apart, and find people who once freed themselves from the shackles of the Soviet Union, fall into a political trap again. This zine is an epitaph, a metaphor in memory of what we once had: a few years of freedom, choice, and alternative. This zine was created in the illustration class at the British Higher School of Design. I chose one of my favorite songs "Russia for the Sad" by the punk rock band Pornofilmy as a reference and source of inspiration. Below is the link to the song.
Come on, take away the smile and enlightenment from your face!
I see you're very happy? That's not the way it's done here, kid!
Think right and feel right: with your heart in the grave, with your soul in prison!
This is Russia! Russia is for the sad! No choice, no change.
I see you're very happy? That's not the way it's done here, kid!
Think right and feel right: with your heart in the grave, with your soul in prison!
This is Russia! Russia is for the sad! No choice, no change.
You're insulting my feelings! Why are you laughing like an asshole?
Russia is a temple of longing and sadness! See you at the courthouse!
Think right and feel right: with your heart in the grave, with your soul in prison!
This is Russia! Russia is for the sad! No choice, no change.
Russia is a temple of longing and sadness! See you at the courthouse!
Think right and feel right: with your heart in the grave, with your soul in prison!
This is Russia! Russia is for the sad! No choice, no change.
